The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has taken a significant step in its administrative structure by appointing Dr. Rose Ohiama Ugbe as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law.
The decision was formally approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Florence Banku Obi.
In an official announcement made on Tuesday, the Registrar of UNICAL, Mr. Gabriel Egbe, revealed that the appointment of Dr. Rose Ohiama Ugbe as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law will be effective starting from Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
This acting role will continue until a substantive Dean is elected for the Faculty.

Dr. Rose Ohiama Ugbe, in her capacity as the Acting Dean, will take on a range of important responsibilities.
Her key tasks will include overseeing the academic programs within the Faculty of Law, nurturing a harmonious relationship between the faculty’s staff and students, and creating an environment that facilitates effective teaching and learning.
Additionally, the release highlighted that Dr. Ugbe will extend her support to fellow faculty members in their research pursuits.
Furthermore, she will collaborate closely with the University Administration to ensure the full realization of the university’s overarching vision.
